CHATEAU LAROSE TRINTAUDON CRU BOURGEOIS SUPERIEUR HAUT MEDOC FRANCE 2018

Fresh and so fruity on the nose, a lively and bright expression full of zingy blackcurrant, strawberry and red cherry. This has a very direct mineral vein giving wet stone, graphite and salty minerality to the palate which balances the ripe fruit. Tannins are les plush than some other 2018s leaving the other elements to shine through without the structure taking over. Feels a cooler, slightly more defined wine because of that. That said, this still has plentiful tannins that do grip the cheeks and tongue and provide the overall support. It’s controlled and easy to drink. A very nice wine which consistently delivers! Blend of 47% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, aged 12 months in oak barrels. The now Cru Bourgeois Supérieur estate has 250ha of vineyards, 70% of stony and sandy gravel, and 30% limestone clay, and is overseen by director general Franck Bijon, also of Château Larose Perganson, Arnauld and Tour de Pez. Ageing 12 months in oak barrels.
