CHATEAU CLIMENS CYPRES DE CLIMENS BARSAC FRANCE 2016

Chateau Climens has a long history in the Bordeaux region, dating all the way back to 1547. It was acquired in 1855 by Henri Gounouilhou and remained in that family until 1971 when it was bought by Lucien Lurton of Chateau Brane Cantenac. Since 1992 it has been managed by Lucien’s daughter Bernenice, who has assiduously maintained its reputation as one of the top producers of Sauternes. The winery has been 100% biodynamic since 2011. Cypres de Climens is the estate’s second wine. Pristine and focused, with stone fruit, nectarine, hints of white cherry, golden raisins and nutty aromas, this is a rich, opulent and decadent wine with great complexity, intense botrytis in the very long persistent finish.
