ICHIROS MALT CHICHIBU WHISKY SINGLE MALT THE PEATED 2022 EDITION JAPAN 700ML

After a four-year absence, the popular peated Chichibu expression has made its return! The Chichibu distillery, founded by Ichiro Akuto, began production in February 2008. It was the first new distillery in Japan since 1973, when Suntory opened Hakushu. Chichibu is located about 70 kilometres northwest of Tokyo. The local climate, with humid summers and cold winters, provides excellent conditions for maturing whisky. Chichibu The Peated 2022 is a complex single malt with a good balance of intense peat and fruitiness. On the nose, you’ll find aromas of light peat, campfire smoke, iodine, gentle custard, peach, apple, black tea and vanilla. The peat smoke develops on the palate with notes of iodine, lemon, bright fruits, caramel, vanilla and pepper. The finish is long with lingering bitter chocolate, peat smoke and citrus fruits.
