ST URBANS HOF NIK WEIS GOLDTROPFCHEN PIESPORTER RIESLING GERMANY 2020

This white gold colored “GG” (Grosses Gewachs) Riesling from Nik Weis is excellent! It opens with matchstick, apple, and ginger bouquet with hints of florals after some swirling. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, delicate, and savory. The flavor profile is a green tea and chalky minerality blend with notes of lime and apple. We also detected some hints of ginger and ash. The finish is dry and drifts away nicely. The Tasting Panel would serve this very food friendly Riesling with baked Dover sole or seared scallops.
